Gerber Pictures in association with Storyopolisis is in pre-production on the true-story survival drama feature film “Crazy for the Storm” for Warner Bros. Pictures. The movie centers on eleven-year-old Norman Ollestad, who survived a plane crash which left him stranded on an icy mountaintop by using the skills his father instilled in him. The film’s Primetime Emmy Award nominated casting director is conducting a national talent search for a 9-11 year old boy to play the lead role. The movie is based on Ollestad’s novel “Crazy for the Storm: A Memoir of Survival”. Shooting will take place in Los Angeles starting April, 2013.

Major feature film international talent search for boy to star in ‘Christ The Lord’
From the Academy Award winning producers of three Harry Potter films comes the upcoming epic feature film “Christ The Lord,” based on the best-selling novel “Christ the Lord: Out of Egypt” by Anne Rice. The casting directors are accepting online self-taped video auditions from boys ages 7-10 to play the starring role of Jesus as a child. Filming begins on March 6, 2013 and will continue through the end of May, 2013. There will also be 2-4 weeks paid rehearsal prior to filming. The shoot will take place in Rome and Matera, Italy. This is an opportunity of a lifetime for the person chosen.

National Talent Search for Paramount Pictures feature film ‘First Glance’
Untouchable J Productions and Paramount Pictures are conducting a national talent search for co-starring roles in the upcoming comedy horror feature film “First Glance”. Nine roles are up for grabs with ages from 10 – 20 years old. The film will shoot in Los Angeles and Pittsburgh, PA. The head of casting for Paramount Pictures is looking for new unknown talent to fill the roles, and no experience is required to be considered. Open casting call for Nickelodeon action-comedy series ‘Supah Ninjas’
Empire City Productions is set to begin production on the second season of the action-comedy series “Supah Ninjas” for Nickelodeon. The lead, guest starring, and recurring roles are being cast in Los Angeles, while smaller roles and extras are cast in Pittsburgh where filming will take place. An open casting call is scheduled for people ages 18-40 who are experienced martial artists, dancers, and gymnasts to work as stunt people and featured extras. In addition, the casting director is seeking young actors ages 14-19 with theatre experience for speaking roles on the show. Also being cast are teen girls with cheerleading experience. “Supah Ninjas” is also looking for a few interns for the summer to work in the Camera/Production/Art/Costume departments.

The directors (Bandito Brothers) and casting director for the major feature film “Unknown Soldier” starring Arnold Schwarzenegger are conducting a national talent search for African, African-American, or mixed ethnicity – African-American and another. They are seeking kids 6-10 tears of age, and adults 18-80, both males and females. No acting experience is necessary, but some dance, theatre or acting experience may be helpful. Open casting call for major feature film ‘Promised Land’ near Pittsburgh
The Matt Damon starring vehicle “Promised Land” is holding an open casting call for extras in the Pittsburgh area. The casting director also needs volunteers to help out at the open casting call, which is expected to have a large turnout. Filming will take place in Apollo, Avonmore and other surrounding areas in Pennsylvania from late April to early June, 2012. Email submissions are also being accepted for people who can not attend the open casting call. This casting director loves casting people who are new to the business, so there is no concern about not having any acting experience.
